About Us
The Centre of Excellence for Biopharmaceutical Technology (CBT) was established at IIT Delhi in 2015 by the Department of Biotechnology- Government of India. This was done to recognize the importance of Biopharmaceutical technology for India, particularly in the field of producing affordable Biotech Therapeutics.
CBT aims to deliver innovation in biopharmaceutical technology to effectively address the challenges faced by the Indian biotech industry and thereby assist in the “Make in India” initiative by making India the global hub of manufacturing economical, safe and efficacious therapeutics.
We are dedicated to creating the best practices that facilitate successful commercialization of biotech products. Our focus is on activities related to process development and manufacturing that would result in production of safe and efficacious drugs, utilizing robust, efficient and economical processes. We plan to achieve this by actively collaborating with the regulatory agencies, the biotech industry and the academia.
Our Mission
The mission of COE- CBT is to provide a network and linkage to establish and facilitate academic- industry collaborations and partnerships that will accelerate the discovery and development of new biopharmaceuticals and related processes.
